Shard of Glass London Bridge

Both Conquip and CantiDeck have been involved from an early stage on what will be Europe's tallest skyscraper and one of London's key landmarks and tourist attractions. From the early stages of site clearance and demolition works through to the groundwork's and onwards we have had a strong product representation on the Shard of Glass site, at London Bridge on the Southbank, opposite the City of London's square mile.

The project is now at one of its most interesting stages, where progress on a weekly basis can be viewed by the general public from the street. As this prestigious project grows skyward, customised CantiDeck Crane Loading Platforms will be used to assist the build and provide access at all levels.

CantiDeck Crane Loading Platforms can be seen on the Shard of Glass from street level, but more interestingly some of the more innovatiuve and vital CantiDeck uses are not as visible; not even by the vast majority of the onsite workforce.

This is because the CantiDeck Research and Development team have been working closely with our installation team leader to develop a ‘legless' propping system for use in the awkward access area of the basement levels.

This is a fantastic system that allows CantiDeck's to be utilised without the need for traditional propping against a soffit or ceiling, making it perfect for subterranean access, where time and space are both at a premium.

MACE cantidecks for Shard of Glass

These CantiDeck platforms have been re-sprayed in the corporate colours of the lead site developer MACE and sign written to support their on-site branding. Ask our CantiDeck specialists about doing this on your project; we will be pleased to help you promote your company brand where it matters!

Cantideck on prime time TV!

The Cantideck team could not quite believe their eyes when the BBC's the One Show ran a feature on the Shard of Glass, nothing too out of the ordinary about that, until we noticed the final shot of the film had presenter Anita Rani standing on a beautifully positioned FF45 Cantideck Loading Platform looking out at the amazing views accross central London.

We will have to admit It was completely unintentional product placement, but you won't find us complaining about it!

As mentioned Conquip products also have a big presence on this prestigious site. Our Concrete Column Skips are being used to pour concrete into the main core as it continues to climb skywards.

Conquip Self Discharging Boat Skips are transporting waste safely down to ground level, other products also on site are Self Levelling Crane Forks, Crane Lift Gas Bottle Cages and Heavy Duty Goods Carrying Cages to name but a few.

We will let you know about further Conquip and CantiDeck usage on this high-profile site as the project progresses.
